USPS UPDATE—Since January 22, 2012, it now costs a penny more (up to $0.45, from $0.44) to mail letters within the United States, the first price change for First-Class Mail since 2009.
The announcement offers good news for customers that normally mail First-Class Mail Presort newsletters, statements, bills or annual appeals with multiple inserts. Now, the second ounce for presorted letters will be free. “This gives companies expanded opportunities to advertise new services and products to their customers as part of their normal mailings,” said Paul Vogel, president and chief marketing/sales officer.
